Does not work with UAD 2 Satellite and MacBook Pro

Maybe I made a mistake and bought the wrong product for work. I have a Thunderbolt UAD 2 DSP accelerator that uses a Thunderbolt 2 cable and I was trying to connect it to my 2017 MacBook Pro. This cable didn't work so I had to use a regular Thunderbolt cable along with a USB-c to Thunderbolt adapter to get my UAD system working. I don't know if the cable is defective because I haven't tried it in other scenarios.

Pros

Important Notes: Not compatible with Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 2 port. Not compatible with older Macbook, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, Mac Pro or iMac with Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 2. Not compatible with audio interface or hard disk drives Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 2 drives Does not support target display mode or target drive mode.
