I think this is just a lovely pen. The coloring is carelessly done, but overall the effect is quite nice. My daughter has a collection of these in her school backpack and this seemed like the perfect fit. I think that's a sufficient value, but it will be a personal matter. She enjoys what makes me happy. It can stay warm on the lapel and be a great gift for a teacher. I could also be a nice little tie. It comes in a small gift box and looks sturdy enough to last quite a while. I am absolutely certain that this company is missing a boat that is only advertising this as a men's lapel pin. It has so many other great ways to use it.
