The basic "plate " is no plate.
The problem here revolves around the mounting plate. It's actually a bent piece of rubber. I have a Kia soul. The line is rounded. I needed something rigid to keep the suction cup attached. I managed to find one and use it instead of the one that comes with it. Everything else about it is great.
