My 13 year old son loves Chuck Taylors and has worn them since he was 10. They are very cute and go with everything he wears, especially jeans and cargo pants. . He'll even wear them with shorts. They are comfortable enough to walk all day and even play sports like basketball. I would say if you have a child who needs arch support I would not recommend them. They are very low profile and have little to no arch support. My youngest son, 7 years old, falls into this category and I can't imagine him wearing them without pain. I really think they could put in inserts to fix this problem. The price is good and these shoes wash great when they get dirty. Just be sure to remove the laces so they can be washed thoroughly. I just put them in the dryer to dry rather than placing them where the sole tends to crack in high heat and as my son wears a size 12 they make an awful noise. One of the best things I love about these shoes is that they come in a variety of colors so each one can be unique. My son now wears gray but has worn red, black and green. They even have colors like pink, purple, stars, and plaid. If you can think of a color or pattern, they probably did.
