cushioning and tons of arch support for minimalist footwear. I wear these Xeros all day (about 15,000 steps on average) and am thrilled that it doesn't hurt - yes, that's my trainer's testimony, but it also says a lot about these boots. Two notes: I usually wear a size 13, but after my feet got used to not squeezing together like they had for decades with traditional running shoes, they separated in the flared toe box and I found that size 14 was more comfortable (they make you not 1/2 a size larger than a size 12), so consider going 1/2 or a whole size up UNLESS you're used to minimalist footwear. One last note on the company - they stand behind their product - I had a small defect issue on my first pair and got my shoes replaced quickly with no problems. Great shoes and great company.
