I was amazed when I opened the box. It's far more substantial than any other scratchy bed I've come across. The weight alone surprised me. "Cardboard" is a much more durable material than traditional corrugated cardboard products. It's encased in MDF, so it won't wander across the floor at a cat's whim. As others have noted he is much larger than usual which is perfect for my 17lb Maine Coon. (See his photo alongside another popular product). The price is also much better than most. It just arrived today and all my 3 cats have already slept in it. I may have to buy 2 more.
