For context: I'm a heavyweight and have been running or walking 10 miles a week for 18 years. I used to only ride New Balance, then Saucony Kinvaras, then Merrell Trail. This is my first maximalist pair so I wanted to try a budget option to see if it suited me. They are very comfortable and I have found myself wearing them more than any other shoe just for everyday use without running. I'm careless and heavy on my gear. I tore 2 mesh holes in my toes within 4 months. With a couple I've done this with in the past, it usually lasted a year when it happened; I think that's a compromise for such comfortable materials.
