Our attic home has two exhaust fans that mount on the gable end beams. Each fan has four mounting points. The fans have a relatively high CFM rating and therefore generate a lot of noise and vibration. Because they are mounted directly to the structure, noise and vibration are transmitted to the living quarters directly below the fan locations. These insulating pads were easy to install. I didn't have to remove the fans—just loosen a fastener, insert a gasket, and reattach one at a time. It took about 20 minutes per fan. While this did not eliminate the noise/vibration, it did significantly reduce it to the point where it is only slightly annoying.
