Here's your problem: The supplied cable has a longer plug!

I also experienced an incredibly tricky connection to the USB cable from this hub; the slightest touch and the thing goes off. I found out that this is because the USB cable that came with it has a slightly longer connector than other third party cables. In the attached images, the blue cable is Cable Matters Micro B (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005H3Q5AE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Since I haven't started buying other brands I can't tell if just the Cable Matters cables are the problem, but I'm willing to bet they're fine and the TP Link cable is different. Obviously this is an issue if, like me, you need a longer cable for this hub. If anyone can identify other third party Micro-B connector cables in the same size as TP Link, I'd appreciate your reply. to this rating. And I suspect others do too. My solution was to take a sharp knife and carefully cut away some of the insulation around the Micro-B connector to allow the connector to fit further into the hub. So far this seems to have worked, so I'm not going to kick this thing to the curb just yet.
