I'm kind of an expert on these things at the moment. Why is this one so good? mounting options! The pistol itself is compact and lightweight, weighing 2.4 ounces. This one looks less like a garage door opener. It looks more like a phaser from Star Trek. It comes with a stand that it snaps into. The stand itself has a mount that allows you to mount it however you like. Flexibility simply cannot be overestimated. The stand is equipped with a micro USB port that allows you to connect it directly to your computer or any other device you wish to use. At the top is the dongle port (clearly labeled as 'key' if you're confused) as it connects to the computer. The scanner will charge and sync while in the cradle. Not only can it connect to the dongle, but it is also a BlueTooth scanner. It can connect to anything. It also scans QR codes, 2D and 3D codes. Save the book as it has all sorts of programming options that you can use if you want. This is by far my favorite scanner for its versatility and mounting options. I don't scan much on a regular basis, but this will validate all my fields in probably every situation.
