Review on 🚗 Metra 95-5812 Double DIN Installation Kit for Ford Vehicles 2004-up - Black by Ryan Moran

Love this mount. I bought this to replace one from another company that had one of the screw tabs broken. It was fitted to a 2006 F150 FX4 and blends seamlessly into the factory dash. There are two tabs on the back that I removed with a razor and pliers to make installation more convenient. You may be able to install it without these, but it was rubbing against the metal on the back and making what sounds like a blackboard scratching noise, so I removed them as they weren't needed for my installation. What I love most about it, aside from how well it blends into the factory dash, are the dowel pins, which are on the bottom on either side. They go right under the bottom screws and actually hold the stereo bracket in place, allowing you to take the screws out and install them with two hands, which is always nice when dealing with a double din, as we all carry the weight these screws know things very big. It's like holding some rocks with one hand and tightening screws with the other. This is the best dashboard kit I have installed and I have installed it for over 15 years.
