The first Alexapure filter worked for over 2 years with no problems. But it's time to replace it. From the reviews on Revain I realized that air bubbles were the likely reason why the new filter just stopped working. Trick: While the top chamber is filled with water, tap the outside of the top chamber with the back of a wooden spoon. . This really worked for me! It took several tries, and the blow wasn't strong enough to dent the chamber. But I suspect that the vibrations in the water have shifted the air bubbles in the filter. To remove any suspected air bubbles, I planned to disassemble the unit and soak the water filter in a bowl of water overnight (exhaust valve on top). But I didn't have time for that before the weekend. So I tried the spoon, the rattle let the water flow normally through the filter for a while and then stopped again. This went on for several days. The filter worked perfectly over the weekend. In my case I think air may have gotten into the filter when the lower chamber overflowed about a week and a half before the filter stopped working.
