They leak if not held upright and the plastic is hard so they cannot be "squeezed" which means that they are only suitable for foods that are very watery liquids. You have to turn the bottle upside down and shake it to dispense a product and only a drop comes out at a time. I would not recommend them for travel as they will leak if not kept upright. I wanted something small for travel and they are small but not suitable for my needs at all. With a small amount of product they release at once, they work well with essential oils, but you usually want a dark material that doesn't let light through so the oils don't break down over time.
