Review on πŸ”Œ PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet Surge Protector with Full Protection - Gas Discharge Tube - Mounting Flange - RJ45 Lightning Suppressor - LAN Network CAT5/CAT6 Thunder Arrestor - GbE 1000 Mbps - Tupavco TP302 by Sean Tops

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Speeds are not affected - easy to install - wish I had had these a few months ago.

We had severe thunderstorms and lightning in this area a month ago and somehow a surge got into my home ethernet network and destroyed about 50% of the connected devices. We had surge protectors for the whole house AND all the equipment is plugged into a UPS, so my theory is that it came through our DSL modem or Ubiquiti wireless antenna and then spread out through my ethernet network. I found out the hard way that most home insurance deductibles are a percentage of the home's value (I had $4,000 that I didn't know about!). Installing this network filter did not affect my speed in any way - I connected it to different households at full gigabit speed. For $25 each, I'll install at least a few to protect my most expensive gear. If they fail I will update this review. Also, on the advice of my electrician, I installed the following items as they have been proven to meet their warranty: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AQAKRSS/ (my electrician said he knows two people personally the claims about this company had and paid without any surcharges) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006KAP4AK/ (cheap product insurance cover) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product / B00M2G0Z64/ (I will do this on my use DSL line)

Pros
