Review on Sand Dipper Jr Handle Hygienic by Brandy Miller

Great idea, metal mesh is best, needs some tweaking

I had a metal mesh shovel years ago so was glad to see/buy it. Overall it's great and the price is quite reasonable, shipping was fast. What I would like to change: * The handle unscrews too easily during use as everyone is always turning the scoop to get into the corners of the box. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed, that contributes more to grip unscrewing than right-handed. Perhaps a snap closure would be better than a screw closure. * Cart is too small. Another inch wider (not deeper) will be better. * The basket should have a straight front edge so you can scrape lumps into corners or get under large lumps. I have a diabetic cat and the clumps of urine are huge so this may not be a problem for other users either. However, I also find this basket a bit difficult in another coaster for my other cat. * The angle of the basket to the handle is too sharp - the handle should be flatter. Again, this might only be an issue for me as my trays are in the linen closets so I don't shovel standing up (no sharp corner needed so the lumps don't fall out when I make my way to the dumpster). *Only wish is that the ergonomic grip can also be mounted on a short stick - since I only use a short stick it would be great to have a comfortable grip. Despite the list above, I want to be clear - I really like this scoop! Metal mesh is by far the best for sifting clean trash back into the box in a timely manner. I have three litter boxes so time is definitely of the essence! And in general, the metal construction is much more durable. I bought 2 of these to have a backup and will definitely be getting both. If a "new and improved" version comes out, I'll definitely try that one too!
