First of all, this is the THIRD Hamilton Beach stove I have bought. The first one I bought lasted 5-6 years. I bought one for my father because he was very happy when he came to visit. When this one finally died, I had no problem finding another. I liked the changes they made to the original BrewStation. The presence of the filler tank on the side was an absolute win for me. No dumping or dripping. Just fill it out and paste it back. It had the same brew settings I liked on the original and the 'Heat' timing options. It worked exactly as I expected. Until he hit the 8 month mark. To be clear, I cleaned it monthly using the vinegar cycle as directed. Let the vinegar sit for 30 minutes after it briefly starts the brew cycle. I've never used harsh cleaners because, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. This is a surefire way to secure your coffee for a while. So yes. Cleaned up often and properly. First problem: the container with warm coffee started to drip/leak from the dispenser. I've cleaned it thoroughly and that's about all you can do. When there was coffee in the machine, it dripped. And you return home to the SEE on the counter. So you had to either leave the cup under the dispenser to catch the drips, or pour all of the coffee into the carafe (which defeats the whole purpose of the BrewStation). We did and I emailed Hamilton Beach. Literally the next day we faced the second problem. The coffee maker only started part of the brewing cycle and then shut off. At first I thought the setting should be changed to 1-4 cups. It's not like this. It was set for 12 cups of coffee. But it's like a coffee pot randomly deciding how much effort to put into it on any given day. Sometimes there were still 2 cups of coffee and 10 cups of water in the tank. Sometimes in half. Most of the time, 95% of the time, he made 8 cups of coffee and left 4 cups of water in the tank. It's not even an option for a damn coffee maker. There is no "Make 2/3 Pot" option. So when HB replied to me about the issue with the dripper asking me to pay for another tank of coffee and shipping, I emailed them notifying them of the new issue. Be silent. GRILLING. Nothing yet. All of this came under a 1-year limited warranty. I didn't register the coffee pot with HB when I bought it and apparently it was outside of Revain's 30 day return window. I don't know what I'll end up buying. Meanwhile, I pump up old Mr. Coffee from the pantry and he's still panting. I see several other reviews here where people have had similar issues. Just wanted to let others know that while the Hamilton Beach BrewStation was great from the start, problems could arise shortly after purchase. fair warning.
