After I received this pet carrier, it had a very strong odor. I thought it might be a plastic mesh, but looking further, the thin wooden plank at the bottom of the carrier was full of what appeared to be some sort of black mold, beneath a small pillow covered with a thin layer of fabric. throughout the forest. Not sure what kind of wood it is but it smelled so bad I had to throw it out. I now have a carrier that has no bottom support other than a pillow which basically makes the bag useless if your pet can't carry it and is more likely to have a zip closure.
