Review on XREXS Digital Kitchen Timer: Magnetic Countdown Up Timer Clock with ⏲️ Loud Alarm, Large Display, and Dual Power - White (Includes 2 Batteries) by Jessica Ness

Ideal for times up to 1 hour/minute/second

I have bought both this timer (old version) and the Habor timer and use them regularly. And I prefer this timer for my use case which is anything but 1 minute, second or hour. Advantage: I can enter at any time with minimal effort. Just dial the number. (On a habor, I would long press the seconds button to get to 45 seconds - my usual stretch time). When the timer is up I press reset once and it stops the timer and resets the time at the same time. That means when the timer reaches the end, I press two buttons and go back to the races. (For a port I would have to press reset twice - once to stop the timer again to reset the timer. Pressing 3 times clears the timer. Sounds secondary but if you do this quickly you can press 3 times, and then I press start and now the timer counts down with no alarm. Worse, it takes me 20 seconds to reset the 35 second timer. I hated the habor timer.) Neg: magnetic clip on the back. So something is going wrong. I worked on this by making a nest of fridge magnets to hold it in place (see 2nd photo). Not optimal. But that's such a minor issue compared to the number buttons winning and the reset button being just a reset button. And a start/stop button with the same button. In hindsight, I'm a bit annoyed that they didn't have an image of the new version, which seems to have solved the rollover issue. It also allows hours that aren't really a priority.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Interchangeable
