If you still have 30 pin devices especially the Apple charging dock then this is the perfect cable when you need a black cable. I have 30 pin cables from all the quality manufacturers like Belkin and Griffin and when you plug one of these into the Apple charging dock the sound is muted even though the iPhone is still charging. The audio also cuts out when I use almost every other 30-pin cable I have, although the iPhone still charges with either cable. When using an original Apple 30-pin cable, the sound does not drop, but you have to put up with the bright white color.
