Review on πŸ“ Accurate and Portable: My Weigh T3-400 Triton T3 400 Gram x 0.01 Digital Pocket Scale in Sleek Black Design by Luis Baker

First impression vs Palmscale 8

I bought both this Triton T3 and the Palmscale 8. I like the Palmscale 8 much better. If you look at the design, there's nothing complicated about these scales other than the rubber gasket on the body. The biggest problem with this Triton T3 is that it's not accurate (probably got a defective one). The numbers fluctuate everywhere and constantly, while the Palmscale 8 is stable. The Triton T3 keeps showing the message "Unstbl" on startup even when I place it on a very stable flat concrete surface. The only time "Ustbl" doesn't show up is when I use the lid as a plastic tray. I think the Triton T3 should need to be calibrated straight away (as the weight is quite different from the PS8 and the PS8 matches the supplied calibration weight exactly) but it doesn't come with the two 200g calibration weights you would have . buy separately. I'm not sure if the calibration will fix the annoying "Unsbl" message when the lid shell isn't in use. When I put a 200g calibration weight on the Triton T3 it says the weight limit is over the allowable limit even though it's supposed to be up to 400g (another indication that the device may be defective). I didn't expect to like the PS8 more as I usually go for "cool" products, but not this time.
