No matter what bed I had or how much I paid for it, I always seem to need styrofoam for it. They used to be a cheap accessory, but it's not anymore, and that brings me to my first question: why would anyone pay a few hundred dollars for a piece of foam to upgrade their mattress instead of just paying the same money for one pay? brand new mattress? Next question. That's because why a piece of foam that costs literally pennies costs so much anyway. I think it makes more sense to invest that money in a better mattress that is designed to be comfortable and doesn't add extra layers that can bunch up, shift and deteriorate once you receive it. However, I bought this one for a number of reasons. The bed I currently have is brand new, full size and actually very pretty and almost comfortable. It doesn't need a thick, fancy topper, just something to make it a little less firm. This is temporary, so there's not much point in changing all of this. I was looking at a one or two inch topper that I used to pay about twenty bucks for, but they just don't exist anymore. Everything I've seen on the internet that's reasonably acceptable costs over $75, and when I checked in stores they cost $300-$400, which was completely out of the question. With an almost endless number of different brands in this category at Revain, I've reviewed every single one of them. very thorough and finally decided to do it despite having very few comments from customers. WHAT I LIKE What attracted me the most is that it's perforated. There's nothing more uncomfortable than lying on a piece of foam on a hot summer night, so airflow was important to me. Next was that they included a lid. As they point out, uncoated foam can crack and chip, and they rarely last a year. The lid protects the foam from aging and also makes it cleaner and more hygienic. I also love that it has some body, it doesn't just shrink when you lay on it. I also love that they have strong elastic bands on each corner so they don't move and pick up the corners while you're lying on them. WHAT I DON'T NEED I don't like the smell of lavender. I think the real reason they do this is to try to cover up the strong foam smell, not because it has any real positive benefit. It's so strong that it was uncomfortable to sleep on for the first week or so. After that, both the lavender smell and the foam smell are gone so much that I can bear it. I think the only thing that got me going was a pretty substantial blitz that put him at the bottom of the price ladder for a day. Now I'm glad I made that decision, it's made better than I thought, the coverage they include is way better than what you usually see, it covers the entire bed where other brands sometimes Being made a little smaller, and most importantly, comfort enhancement is exactly what I was looking for - not too hard and not too squishy, it softens pressure points, or "stings" as I call them, and reduces the need to toss me back and forth so often to roll around so I can sleep better.
