Review on Reef Navy Chicco KeyFit 35 Zip ClearTex Infant Car Seat With Improved SEO by Angie Baker

Awkward to load in baby

I like this seat’s reputation for safety. I like how easy it is to install the base firmly and securely. But… it’s not easy to use on the daily. 1. It’s very heavy. I’m not a seat carrying person normally anyway, but for those times where that’s convenient, the weight is pretty extreme. That includes if you want to transfer it onto a stroller, it’s an awkwardly heavy maneuver. 2. The straps are super annoying when placing baby in. There is nowhere to put them, baby must sit on them, and then you have to dig around for them under baby and keep them from twisting. And if baby is not feeling it that day, be prepared to do this while they yell at you. 3. Fabric is a little on the sweaty side. Some of their premium fabric options might be nicer. 4. Convenient and comfortable Infant insert isn’t used long at all if you have a slightly larger than average size babe. 5. It’s deep like a bucket. I’m wondering if that helps with it’s safety rating? But baby doesn’t look very comfy without insert and sitting deep in a bucket. It makes it harder to extract baby from seat. After three months of use, I’m kicking myself for not going straight to a premium convertible seat from day one as I said I would for my second. Like last time, might make the switch in the third or fourth month.
