Review on Case Logic LARI115 Hudson Backpack by Julia Lizeth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Need more small bags, otherwise great

What? Another Case Logic bag? Understand. One of the sad facts of aging is that you get weird injuries, like my deformed shoulder that caused me to stop carrying a backpack regularly a year or two ago, so it probably wasn't the best choice for me. Outlook. However, I really like this bag, at least as far as the overall design is concerned. The straps are long enough to accommodate even the broadest of shoulders. If you live in a rainy area like Seattle or Ireland, the drawstring top and hood closure is great for keeping your stuff dry. (I think I would have preferred fabric to the plastic buckle loops.) It certainly fits my MacBook Pro and iPad mini perfectly. The back and shoulder straps are padded like any good modern backpack. It's a bit small for airline carry-on, but otherwise quite roomy and perfect for working in class and on the go. (Or Starbucks. Let's face it. I'm writing this at Starbucks, and there's a non-zero chance you're reading this at Starbucks.) I only have two real design flaws. The first is the lack of smaller pockets. There are only two of them, and one of them is designed for a tablet, and the other is a mesh pocket that can be easily drilled with a pen or pencil over time. The front pocket is about 3/4 the depth of the bag itself, which I feel is too big for anything other than papers or books that have enough room inside. Another matter of personal taste and not directly linked to the quality of the product or my assessment: the color scheme (which is currently misrepresented but is mainly khaki with turquoise trim and a strange pattern of red, white, blue and brown triangles inside ) is a little too much for me for high school students and it seems like it would look a little strange in a business setting. However, if you're in better shape than me, you'll probably get your money's worth, like it or not.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
