Bought the 36" version of this light to fit a 22 gallon AquaMaxx aquarium (approx. 36" x 12" x 12") to illuminate. - from another online seller (while the sale is ongoing). The remote control is ok, not great, but it works - you could program the on/off time with no problem. I love the sunrise and sunset effect. My biggest issue with the T5 is that this light doesn't deliver the kind of performance I'm used to. As a result, my clover grew taller and showed four leaves instead of one - other plants also grew taller than under CFL or T5 lights. I fully enabled it on every channel. I think my tank could handle a second light like this at almost full power to get back to where I was before I switched to LED. However, it seems to grow most things, has a low profile, and survived an accidental fall into my tank. more than once For reference I am using high tech rig here - pressurized CO2 with reactor, Twinstar M5 reactor, Aquasoil etc. Your mileage may vary
