I needed a small, quiet fan that could push warm air out of my office. It had to be small enough to sit above my exhaust fans on my computer case, but powerful enough to push warm air right out my office door about 4 feet away. I live in Texas, and as you can imagine, even with good air conditioning, it can be quite uncomfortable in my home office. This fan had a lot of positive reviews and many said it was quiet and powerful so I took a chance on buying one. Some of what was said in other reviews was true. It's very quiet and compact. Low settings are inaudible to me, high settings are pleasantly quiet. But it is NOT a powerful fan as many assume. The air he moved also had no uniform direction. Because the blades are made of cloth and aren't aerodynamic at all, they don't move air towards the small cone. Rather, I feel like most of the airflow is pushed up, very little straight forward, and a small amount down. When I stand directly in front of the fan on the front door, I feel absolutely no air flow. So where does all this air go? Well, not in the door, but in the airflow in the room, which doesn't benefit me at all. If you're looking for a fan for the same reasons I am, I would definitely look at a traditional fan with plastic blades that has directional airflow.
