Review on Daveliou Calligraphy Pen Set Professional by Linda Diaz

This calligraphy set did not meet my expectations. Instead of high quality calligraphy supplies to write with, I got an aesthetically pleasing box made out of cheap materials. First off, the springs included in the kit are two separate pieces of metal that are easy to separate and detach as there is no glue holding them together. Making pen tips almost useless unless you like sloppy ink lines. Basically you are left with a wooden holder and a glass handle. The wooden holder is fine, but it would be pretty hard to screw up, although I'm sure you could find one at your local craft store for a few bucks. Then a glass pen, which feels nice in your hand but has a durable tip, so don't use it unless you want to write with a very thin line. The pen tip also looks very fragile and cheap, and moreover, when the ink in the pen tip gets stuck under the pen, making it difficult to clean completely. On top of that you get 5 different inks that come in very small bottles which is quite annoying if you drop the pens when walking past the neck of the bottle. Another thing that sucks about ink is that when you shake it (which you should do before use) the ink gets all the way to the sides of the bottle where the cap is when it's closed, so you have to wipe it off properly after usage. Otherwise, you risk ink dripping down the sides of the ink bottle. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the set given its price which does not reflect the quality of the materials inside.
