Review on πŸ“ž ASUS White SV1TW Skype Video Phone with Touchscreen by April Scott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very convenient for phones and accessories

I am currently touring alone in South Korea, so my children cannot come with me. They moved into my parents' house and I left my computer with them so I could skype with them. Well, I didn't work the way I wanted to. Too many times the computer has crashed due to downloading too many games, downloading a virus, or simply forgetting to leave it on. I bought a Skype videophone from them because it's a simple, specialized device. I don't have to worry about viruses or misconfigurations or reloading software. They leave it on all the time like a regular home phone so I can call them or they can call me anytime. I have an Asus netbook and there were no problems with calls. Picture and sound are good. I had no problems with the picture or sound quality. The phone is very easy to set up on a wireless router. My oldest son is 11 and made the first set himself. The first thing I didn't like was the battery life. It only takes about 15 minutes. I compared it to my netbook's battery life and was disappointed. Turns out it wasn't as big of a deal as it was for me. Unlike a desktop computer, they can take it from room to room so they don't get stuck in one place. It doesn't quite work as a cordless phone, but it gives you enough time to take it to another room and plug it into an outlet before the battery dies. This phone is often moved around the house. We've been using it for over a year now and the kids love it.
