I have two of these vises, one on each of my benches and a 9 inch version as a rear vise on one of my tables. They have been used for several years and I only wish I had installed them ten years ago. Not as pretty as some of the more expensive vises, they are fully functional, durable and will last a lifetime. The mechanism runs smoothly. I brush off sawdust and dirt. Remove propellers and shafts from time to time. It is important to set them up correctly and attach whatever you intend to use as a jaw pad. I used maple and drilled holes in the outer panel so I could extend the range of the vise to the width or length of the bench with pawls mounted on the top of the bench. The only problem I have is that the tips on the Handles unscrew themselves and can fall off and get lost, but that's easily fixed with a little locktite.
