Not designed for use under trees but worth a try

In over 30 years of hunting, one thing hasn't changed. Eliminate the odor as best you can with all clothing, sprays, and soaps. The deer ALWAYS catch your wind and either avoid the location altogether or stare and then blow and run away, 98% of the time if the wind is wrong or the microclimate is bad. The spikes are not in your favor. The ONLY thing I've found to change these odds is to climb onto the stand 20-22 feet (about 7 yards) higher in the tree. There, microbursts and winds tend to float high or disperse higher in the trees. However, every little thing helps on those windier days when those downdrafts seem to be pushing your scent to the ground. That's where I thought this little device could come in handy. if only to confuse the smell in the wind. However, all reviews said that it stopped working after 3-4 uses and a full charge. I haven't experienced it. BUT I've REALLY seen this device get picky about which cable it wants to use to charge. I started with a working cable I found at camp. the same cable. However, I switched and tried several other cables until I found one that charged the device. I still can't figure out WHY it charged with 1 cord and then stopped charging with it. Then gave up 3 others only to start charging on the 4th cable. VERY STRANGE. However, you can see how I used this device from the attached image. I installed it on a standard 1/4" camera clamp mount. And attached it to an existing climbing peg for my downwind stand. About 15-20 minutes before sunrise I turned it on and left. ran in about 2 , 30 minute cycles, then I turned it off for 30-60 minutes, turned it back on and did the same until about 11-12 a.m. At that point I had 1-2 charge indicators left.Although the wind was swirling, could I didn't smell the OZONE much but it was there. So I was wondering if I could smell it, maybe that would confuse the deer's nose. WERE NOT worried. So I decided NOT to return due to a strange charging issue. CONS: It's bulky to carry around and doesn't really do much in a bag or pocket to control "smell". In a few days it would have drenched everything with the smell of OZONE, but it doesn't. TOO. I have it tried in the fridge to 2 things to test. felt bad when it was cold while hunting. It withstood the cold and worked, but drained the battery faster. But did nothing to affect the fridge's odd smell. Doesn't affect scent much, is bulky to carry and doesn't seem to release much ozone for its size.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Not as good as the name says
