I thought this would be great for my 3 and 5 year old granddaughters. Well, it's not as easy as it seems. Maybe there are too many things on one board. But the main problem is that their little fingers have a hard time manipulating objects, so they get frustrated and give up. The only thing they can easily manage is the zipper, the velcro and one of the buckle closures. If they were bigger ie the button section, the latch section maybe they would stick with it longer.
