I came from a steel comb (which I couldn't find hence this purchase) - it was a little rougher on my beard/face - so this is my first wooden beard comb. After a week of use it feels great on my beard which is fairly densely covered and growing back and is currently a few inches long. It hardly snags and goes through any tangles I have with ease. Combined with the beard oil I buy locally, my beard has definitely gotten a lot healthier (and fluffier) since I've been using it. I haven't traveled with it (yet) so I can't comment on how it holds up in its suitcase or anything, but it feels solid enough in my hands. I won't keep it in my pockets, I'll probably carry it in my toiletry bag if I take it with me, so I can't imagine pocketing it would be a problem for me. Cosmetically there are a few blemishes but that doesn't bother me, you have to look closely to see them and other than that it looks professional. I've also seen in other reviews that the box it comes in looks pretty cheap which is true but as I bought it for myself I don't mind at all. If I were buying it as a gift I would probably rewrap it. In general the comb is strong, I think it's worth the money spent on it. I would recommend it.
