Review on Samsung Genuine DA29 00003G Refrigerator HAF CU1 2P by Brandon Christianson

What a mess. Samsung ships its improved "three-tooth" filters and puts them in discontinued "two-tooth" filter boxes along with "two-tooth" filter instructions. Is it really that hard for Samsung to use up their stash of old boxes and outdated manuals? To add insult to injury, their instructions incorrectly state that the fridge's filter housing (mine is the RS22HDHPNSR) has an "indicator line" (or, in Samsung lingo, a notch) shaped like a downward-pointing arrow is. Not correct. My fridge's filter housing has a long, horizontal, very thin arrow pointing from the "lock" icon at the 6 o'clock position to the "unlock" icon at the 9 o'clock position. No indicator line, no notch. I spoke to two Samsung reps and as nice as they were they couldn't help me because they also searched for vague/outdated instructions. It didn't take long for me to realize I was alone. I was able to install the filter and get it working. The filter must be placed into the filter housing so that the "lock" symbol ON THE FILTER is aligned to the left of the "unlock" symbol (at approximately 10 o'clock) ON THE FILTER BODY. Twist the filter counterclockwise about 1-2 inches and it will hook. Then, using considerable force, continue to turn the filter counterclockwise until the "lock" symbol on the filter aligns (more or less) with the "lock" symbol on the filter housing. You should hear a small jet of water running through it. Come on Samsung, update the instructions in the box or at least give your customers a link to the updated instructions. And, for heaven's sake, give your poor operators updated instructions. Don't hang them out there to dry. Overall, this was (and is) exceptionally poor customer service. Samsung, what do you think?
