Ideal for a chicken coop.
Our three girls (chickens) love to sit under this lamp. It's attached to the ceiling of their barn/stall about 2 feet above them. I have NEVER liked 250 watt bulbs as they cause fires too easily. There was a fire in the dog kennel and thus in the family home. According to the news due to the heating of the lamps. 125 watt bulbs are much safer and I have used them in place of 250 watt bulbs for many years. Not much heat around the bulb and a cooler fixture than the 250 but still plenty of IR heating where directed.
