Not for everyone Pentax

If you have a Pentax that supports this lens, it's a killer. Not all Pentax cameras support iris adjustment from the camera on this lens and there is no way to manually adjust the iris from the lens. I use it with K-70 and it's amazing. Very sharp. Autofocus is generally very fast and accurate, and if manual adjustment is required, just grip the focus ring. No switches required. The autofocus is also very quiet. It would have been nice if it had a larger aperture, but with the high ISO performance of K-70 it doesn't matter. The large zoom range makes it very useful for multitasking. This is the lens that stays on the camera when I don't need it because if it's carried around it will probably fill the bill nicely. I have several other lenses for specific purposes, but this one is what I use for long range and close action. The weather protection function is useful. It was really bad with the old 55-300 Pentax lens when it snowed at the athletics last spring. Combined with the K-70's weatherproof camera body, it works whenever you need it. It is also lightweight and folds into a very compact package when not in use. The button that releases it so it can be pulled out for use is conveniently located so this isn't a problem. All in all, it takes very sharp pictures, focuses quickly and quietly and is very light.
