I have a 2005 Mercedes S430 but I think MANY cars use this fiber optic backbone. Well, my stereo stopped working and the battery died overnight too. With this "loop" I could pull the components "out of the loop" individually. It doesn't work without this "looper". I took out a component from the "loop" and finally when I got to the CD changer. "loop" bypassed the CD changer. all of a sudden it worked. Except for the CD changer. what was broken. Also, now that the cycle is up and running again, the car can "put the system to sleep". which cured my battery drain problem. I AM SUPER HAPPY. Even a beginner can easily handle it.
