I'm shocked. For years we used an AT mic that cost almost four hundred dollars. We use the mic weekly and it lasted about six years and then died so we started looking for a replacement. My first choice was a high-end Countryman mic, but we don't have the budget for it right now, so I ordered this mic with the expectation that we'll use it temporarily until our audio budget can be increased. I was positively surprised. In terms of sound quality, it's better than the microphone it replaced. It takes a lot less EQ to make the voice sound natural and I have a lot more headroom. In fact, I'm a little pissed that it beats our other mic by 20% of its price. I have no plans to upgrade. We've only had it a few weeks so I don't know how long it will last, but looking at the design I don't think there will be a huge difference in terms of build quality. Pleasantly surprised by this purchase.
