A poorly designed belt clip will ensure that the alarm clock is lost long before you need it.

Acquired shortly after the robbery and hung on the belt. The clip was so smooth that every time I sat down and got up the alarm went off. To compensate, I took it off when I didn't need it and put it on occasionally. The last time I tried to attach it, the thin plastic clip broke in half. Without this defect it would have been a 4 or 5 star item and would have been easy to fix. With a closed loop instead of a pad, it's easy to keep on your belt, and with a metal clip instead of a plastic clip, there's less risk of breakage. As planned at this point, by the time you need the alarm it will be lost somewhere on the road - guaranteed.
