It can handle large projects very well, even though it's not free. The price point puts it in reach of most people that need this capability. If you're looking for something more than just basic copying/moving functionality (especially if you want file management too), consider using at least one other tool like Carbonite or Dropbox because there are many features available without having to pay an additional fee. We use Shotput for our larger productions - where we might shoot several thousand assets each month. This makes life easier when working remotely or trying to track down specific files that were missed during editing / post-production.
