I think it's a good buy but I had some problems from the start. I've considered holding off on writing this review since I've just installed the device, but I feel it's important to share the review now in the hope that (1) others will be aware that this device may not is immediately ready for use. , as it should , and (2) hope someone at Barker sees this review and fixes this issue. I unpacked the device, unpacked it and considered everything; All is. So far, so good. Tidy up the frame area to install and ensure a good floor. Check. Installed the block and stretched a usable cable to the battery. There is no battery connector so you must have one or buy one. I return to the apparatus and try out the light. Is working! Bingo! I have power and land! I press the down button and nothing. I push the switch up. Nothing. It's hot outside and I'm angry. I break out the multimeter and the outlet. I removed the top cover (the plastic case that houses the switches) and noticed a wire that wasn't connected to anything. Positive line of the switch defective. Plug in and everything works as it should. However, out of curiosity, while removing the cover, I loosened the 4 screws holding the metal case in place to check the inside. did you miss anything else? I need to know before I go next month! Everything was fine in the gearbox housing. I put everything back together and the jack raises the trailer effortlessly. There are now a few scratches on the plastic case from internal work, but nothing major. I almost gave this car 5 stars but I really don't like spending so much money on something and then having doubts in the back of my mind while driving down the road. Overall I would probably buy another one as a solution to this problem. is not serious, but it may not be something you want to delve into. I called Barker and they called me back after I fixed the unit. I was offered a cover for my problems, which I immediately ordered. Instead, I buy a new switch and some fuses, just in case. All in all I appreciate the call back and the tone of the gentleman on the other end of the line. I almost gave this unit 3 stars but the customer service seems to match what everyone else has said so it deserves at least one star!
