Great if you get a pair that works Battery replacement PROBLEM

I had trouble with this review because I liked the first pair I bought about 15 years ago. Autumn Crisp Leaves was TOO loud when I turned the volume up. It was great to hear sounds or conversations that you otherwise would never have heard. Great for training yourself to move/be quieter. Their shape makes them great for long gun shooting, and you can wear any brimmed hat (or woman's hairstyle)! The latter died from battery corrosion. I hate that about this design. Replacing batteries is SO difficult, you won't do it until you're sure you've been out of range for a long time / the season is over etc. Enloop batteries are rechargeable dry cell batteries that won't corrode. and lick, only use these for valuable electronics you don't want to lick, as even big D&E brands messed things up well before their date. They feel premium, but the foam wears out and the battery holders on the last two pairs don't offer an easy connection. So the second pair I bought a few months ago doesn't seem to have any reinforcement. . It's possible it's just very weak/poor battery connections as I had the same issue replacing the 3rd set with the 2nd. Eventually I got a good connection to the battery and found I could hear the TV with the Peltors on all the way. I also bought a cheap Champion kit (very poor quality but louder sound). I think it's probably a refund or something as there is no warranty card, they are no longer made and MUCH cheaper than the newer version. I MUST wear a full brimmed hat for sun protection and that is the only thing appropriate for the shoot. It is very important to be prepared to hear surrounding noises. I have genetic hearing problems and am affected by accidents/loud noise exposure and NOT having my hearing aids makes a huge difference in general and safety in particular. Or when a deer chases a deer through the woods (which happened last season) I never heard it and was ready without reinforcements And was quick enough to pull a rifle out from behind my back (I went down the mountain for lunch) And aimed protective headphones. I guess I'll just try wearing them with hearing aids to help weak speakers until I feel like coughing up $200+
