Product OK for nut inserts
This product is designed for softwood as described. However, this item can be used on hardwood if the hole is drilled to size and oil is applied to the threads to allow the threads to cut into the wood. Using the recommended bit size in hardwood will require too much torque and will destroy the flange. I destroyed four flanges before I found out. I would prefer the hex to go through the shank.
