You get what you pay for. I bought the exact same model on ebay for less than half the price and given the quality I recommend paying less than a dollar. Other than that, it works as advertised and I'm happy with the purchase. You must know what you are doing to get acceptable results with each milligram scale, details below. The battery operation works well and the supplied power adapter works perfectly. It has leveling feet that work. Must be calibrated and checked every time it is switched on. The instructions say to turn it on for 30 minutes to warm up before use. My limited testing didn't seem to show much of an impact on accuracy. Attention: the built-in spirit level was not at the same height as mine. Maintaining the balance level is critical for correct self-zeroing (which is a requirement for an analytical balance). Using a separate plane at the top (prior to installing part of the windshield casing) ensures the scale is properly leveled and is actually zeroing now. Check left to right and front to back. Otherwise the calibration will NOT work properly and your results will be unreliable. A stable table is also required. In one test, I ran on a very large table that only had 2 supports supporting it in the middle. Although the table was heavy and solid, someone on the same table 8 feet away was typing on the keyboard, which took the scale much longer to determine the final weight. Accurate results require a four-legged table that nobody else works at. Also, do not use this with power tools working nearby or anything that may vibrate the floor it is on. Accuracy: The lighter the material being weighed, the better the reproducibility of the weight. You should allow for an average of 3 different measurements if you need milligram accuracy. Also, use a transparent case for all measurements. Any milligram accurate balance that does not come with a draft shield will not be accurate. I've found that sometimes even holding your hand over the scale with the lid off can add 20-40 mga to the reading, a case is required and it does the job in use. Overall I think this is a good buy for light use.
