Review on πŸŽ’ Maxpedition 0512 Condor II Backpack Khaki: Ultimate Performance and Style by Ronald Lunn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy, heavy-duty backpack

Like all Maxpedition products, this Condor 2 is very strong and durable. It features ample PALS webbing, padded shoulder straps, a zippered rear hydration pocket and 1000 denier nylon construction. Seams are double stitched for durability. There are compression straps, 2 on each side, and a Y-shaped compression strap on the front. The fabric is very durable. I think it's too hard. It is also very water repellent. Cordura back panel but not vented and minimally padded. I would like to have double bottle cages like in the Pygmy Falcon 2 set. If you add a Maxped bottle bag, a Condor bottle bag or a 5.11 Tactical bottle bag, the backpack becomes too wide and unwieldy. The Pygmy Falcon bottle cages are very good. Capacity seems good. It looks like a tough pack of nails. I would say that this backpack is primarily designed for strength and durability. For convenience I would only give 3 stars - traction on the shoulders and feel on the back. The straps are easy to adjust at the bottom and top so it helps with adjustment. So my overall assessment is that this is a strong and durable backpack first and foremost. It would be better with two drinking bottle holders like the Pygmy Falcon 2 and a slightly softer cloth. Could it also use a bit better back padding or maybe an extra hard plastic part? which can fit in the back for support. However, for military, EDC or first responder use, it is strong, durable and reliable.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Power outlet required
