As some other people have mentioned, the hardware is for 1 inch boards, not two.
Hardware style is great, would be easy to use, but the washer is too small and the screws are too short. In order for it to be strong enough I think it should be mounted on 2" boards and the screws only go through the 1" board. It will cost $40 to buy new bolts, if you want to make washers it will be even more. We ended up sinking the hardware into the 2" board where the screw could reach, which is a pretty good hole in the back of your boards. Rockwall is for my son and I could wait but I wouldn't buy them again I would find the ones that fit 2" boards.
