Nikon D300s 12MP - camera and photo

After a long research I switched from Nikon D70s to D300s. I was very happy with the D70s but needed more pixels for the large prints I prefer (13x19+). I agree with many pros who have pointed out that if you're producing 8x10 you don't need more than 8MP. or even full frame 11 x 14 in most cases. If you go beyond this print size or drastically crop to 11x14, then you need more pixels. prosumer category. This shouldn't be your first camera. If you shoot mostly on automatic or like point-and-shoot, the D300s isn't for you, even if you have the money. Money, you should be prepared to spend time learning its many modes Thanks to the wide ISO range, very low noise and advanced focusing system, it's capable of capturing great images in very low light or fast-moving scenes . The ergonomics seem perfect to me, unlike many Canons I've tried. It has a good balance and feels very solid (metal frame). I often shoot with a heavy Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR and good grip and balance are important to me. I love the color and resolution. Using Lightroom 2.5 and Photoshop CS4 on a Canon Pro 9000 MkII printer, I easily get professional (sellable) 13" x 19" prints. The D300's different focus modes, white balance and color modes are great for quick shots. I programmed several custom settings for both studio and field use. Being able to change multiple camera settings at the touch of a button is great. The info button alone should put you off buying D300s vs D300s. Installing two memory cards is also great. I alternate between using a second card as a backup for important shots and using overflow mode when I'm out for longer shots. I shoot in RAW most of the time, and the security of overflow mode allows me to stay in the flow so I don't have to stop losing my temper and switching memory cards. I often add a power grip when using multiple flash setups with one remote. The Nikon remote control can drain the main battery through the remote control. during a long studio shooting, otherwise it is easy for the patient to take a whole day and hundreds of shots. The Info button instantly displays the battery percentage in both the main and power grips. Nice upgrade so you don't have to look at the little battery icon and guess. I'm very happy with the D300s and would highly recommend it if you're looking for a reliable professional camera. It worked perfectly for me. Revain (B&H Photo) remains perfect for me due to its competitive price and timely delivery.
