The finish seems to scratch fairly easily, but I was half expecting it. It doesn't matter because you can't see the scratches on my wheels. The other annoying thing is that yes, the box they come in is all soft and pretty, but mine looked like it had been squashed before it was packed for shipping, resulting in almost half of them bumping into each other in the shipping box itself. Hooray. Remember I said they scratch easily? Plus, at under $35, they're still a steal.
