I thought the old Petmate filters were great. These new ones don't fit. The old ones were definitely charcoal as you could feel the little bits of charcoal in the filter and you had to rinse them out before using them to get rid of the charcoal dust. And they can last 90 days. These new ones are only rated to last 30 days, and not only do you not feel any charcoal in them, but you never wash out the dust.
