Review on Sangean PR D7 BK Rechargeable Portable by Jason Wright

I bought this radio mainly as an alarm clock and also as a radio for leisure activities. Dual alarm, HWS buzzer or music. Alarm clocks are easy to set up. They stay tuned from day to day. So if you want to wake up at 6:00 a.m. every day, you don't have to reset it every day. The buzzer starts out soft and then gets much louder for about 20 seconds. The time is always displayed on the right side of the screen unless you are using an alarm clock. The time display is shown regardless of whether the radio is on or off. With the radio off, press any button to view the time in the dark on the backlit screen. The light stays on for 10 seconds and then turns off. There is a repeat function, but I don't use it. Can this Sangean D7 replace your alarm clock? Yes, exactly. If you want a constant time display, this isn't for you. I like to sleep in a dark room so this suits me. The sound quality of the radio is good. It's good for its size, but the sound is bottomless and sounds like a tweeter compared to my boombox. The sound is probably much better than most clock radios. Should I expect bass from a small 2 1/2 speaker? No, that's why I'm not giving a star. The FM tuning quality is amazing. Each station enters with its antenna down. It looks digital quality but I live in Los Angeles. AM has issues but I just plugged it in and the manual warns against keeping it 12 inches from the plug due to interference. I'll get the batteries soon, so this may improve the quality of the AM station. I wish it had more than 5 FM presets. Setup is easy, so I spread my presets across the entire watch face. Build quality is ten. The buttons have a soft, rubbery texture that fits perfectly. They could easily have made them out of plastic, but they chose the highest quality rubber buttons. case is strong. A shiny black suitcase grows up on me. I think this is a really high quality product. The display is crystal clear. The backlight is perfect brightness. As far as I know it is not regulated. The station font is about 72 if I had to guess. My old eyes can easily read it from a distance or near. Time is about 50 fonts but still legible. Batteries use 6 AA. You can use regular batteries or rechargeable batteries. The radio charges batteries when plugged in. Wonderful. Wish list: A tone control would be a plus. Loud 3.5 inch speaker. More presets Like my purchase? Yes. Would I buy it in store after playing with it? Yes, for me a great alarm clock with bennifits.
