2004 Silverado Block Like New

Hard to believe that for $30 you can get a soldier's iron and soldier's vacuum AND all the parts to completely restore the instrument cluster. I replaced all the stepper motors and upgraded the headlights. All my sensors are broken and they all work like new. A few notes: 1. You don't need a lot of heat to desolder. Temperature 375 and quick touch for a maximum of 2 or 3 seconds. I've only used the soldier's suction cup on stepper motors.2. The stepper motors are PCB mounted and the lamps are surface mounted.3. Turn on the lights in front of the steppers to leave room to work. Light polarity is important. Once you've secured them, plug in the board and test it out. I had 4 that didn't work, took me less than 5 minutes to desolder and roll over.4. When everything is ready to install, plug in the cluster and start the car to test. I had to change the position of the oil pressure and tachometer, and also put too much pressure on the temp (it didn't move). Everything connected works great. Total work about 2 hours. Best $30 I've ever spent.
