I cut the LED legs to the same length and trim them to even out the brightness of the light, but some areas are still brighter than others. The long leg of the LED is the positive end and you should test the LEDs on the board with a battery to see which end is positive/negative. I replaced all my stepper motors because my fuel and oil gauges stopped working, some of my light bulbs didn't work so I replaced all the light bulbs with a blue LED and signal and cruise control with green LED bulbs and I already had some of these and I repaired the PRNDL bulbs which were not working properly and were fading (there are no parts from this kit for this repair). Hard to believe that for $30 you can get a soldier's iron and soldier's vacuum AND all the parts to completely restore the instrument cluster.
